We all live busy lives, in fact, even when we’re traveling we don’t always get the downtime we need. It’s becoming harder and harder to switch off from work, due to the remote working lifestyle many of us have accidentally adopted - where we are almost always contactable, by email. In addition, many of us feel like we need to employ someone just to keep up with the conversation on social media; making us feel like we are ‘reacting’ and always on the go.

Indeed, in a somewhat overstimulated world, it can be easy to feel quite frazzled at the end of the day, or even upon waking up and throughout the day. Therefore, it’s important you take some time out that’s just for yourself.

Now, there’s a huge difference between taking time out for yourself and doing nothing; often we can watch a bit of Netflix, or jump on Pinterest, and we are not “working” but we aren’t truly relaxing either… at times, it can feel like we are just distracting ourselves from the burdens of life we know we must face. Almost like a pit stop.

Making time for yourself, and having true downtime is something quite different. It’s all about self-care and carving out chunks of time that are specifically just for you… not quick moments here and there… but scheduled time that is purely designed for you to relax and unwind.

For some people, this may involve going to a fancy spa or an organized fitness class such as yoga or something more intense like boxercise to release stress - whilst for some people, it’s drifting off into the world of gaming and discovering cool characters in this new Final Fantasy mobile game. The point is, whatever it is for you - that’s okay. We all have different ways of unwinding… the most important thing is to ensure you carve out time that allows you to just chill out without stress or worrying about the things you have to do.

Time is the most vital and limited resource we have… yet we are so quick to give it away to the demands of life, work, and family. In this sense, time is often an overlooked gift that we don’t treat with the value it truly has. It’s important you are living your life for you - not for someone else, as your time is yours, and each minute, or even second, you expend, you can never get back.

This is something that we need to start to feel much more, on an emotional level, as when you think about where you honestly spend your time each day - is it being spent as wisely as it could be; or is it being given away to other people and projects as if you have a limitless supply?

The truth is, you only have so many hours in the day, and these hours are yours. You only have so many days left - and these days are yours. Yes, you should give your time to work, family, friends and the necessities of life… just don’t forget to make sure you have some time for yourself too.
easy tips to battle anxiety and stress

I have previously mentioned more than a few times how much anxiety interferes with my day to day life. As someone who has been living with this issue since childhood, I can understand in-depth how severe and tripling it might be to a person.  Even though I have tried almost every tip and trick in the book I still feel the rush of overwhelming anxiety even in the most basic situations. Through years and years of trying and failing, I finally found my own way of coping with daily stress and anxiety. Today I will share the top 5 things I do daily in order to have a stress-free morning.

1. I wake up 30 minutes earlier.

Most of the time having almost no time in the morning to prepare yourself for the day is actually the most triggering thing when it comes to anxiety. I set up my alarm 30 minutes earlier in order to have enough time to lay in bed, slowly get up or have some extra time to eat breakfast and have a cup of coffee. Waking up at the last minute and all the stress that comes with it is definitely more than capable of ruining your day by causing even more episodes.

2. I listen to my favorite, relaxing music.

As soon as I get out of bed I put my headphones on and start listening to my favorite music. I continue to do so while doing my morning routine, having breakfast, etc. Listening to all the commotion outside really bothers me in the morning. I need to be calm and focused on getting everything done at my own pace.

3. Exercise at least 20 minutes per day.

I am not a fan of typical daily exercises, yoga, etc. I much rather prefer walking or running especially outdoors. No matter if you want to hit the gym or dance around the house to your favorite music, 20 minutes of daily activity will definitely help you keep your stress levels to a minimum.

4. I set alarms for every task I have to finish.

I am known for not managing my time correctly so multiply alarms per day are the only way I can function without losing my mind. I calculate the time I need for every task and set the alarms accordingly, otherwise, I might spend a big part of my day working only on one specific thing.

While I was perfectly planning my summer holidays, eager to get away from the city, and all the constant noise that comes along with, the weather had different plans. The stormy, moody days seem like they will never end. If you someone looks closely he might spot a few rays of sunshine now and then but most of the time it feels like the middle of Autumn.  I keep organizing my suitcase hoping for warmer days now that July is almost here.

The cold weather took such a big toll on my mental health, it's unbelievable. Over the last few weeks, I felt extremely unmotivated in pretty much every single aspect of my daily life. I keep pushing myself to be a better, more organized person but sometimes everything feels like a burden. I want to go out, but I want to stay in. I want to work but I also want to stay in bed doing nothing. I want to make art but nothing seems to turn out the way It was meant to. These thoughts have been taking over my mind for many years and because of that, I keep finding new ways to battle these emotions and still be able to function daily.

I have a little folder on my phone's notepad with all the tasks than need to be done every single day. It can be as simple as "go for grocery shopping" or important, urgent projects like edit, deliver a project, etc. I set a goal of 7 tasks per day and at the end of each day, I check and mark the things I managed to do. Each time I try to add one more thing. The feeling of seeing my daily accomplishments motivates me for the next one.

I keep a list of all the things I accomplished within a month because most of the time I tend to jump off from goal to goal without taking the time to appreciate how far I have come.

The usual style block

Hello lovelies! Please raise your hand if you have been through a style block over the last two weeks. I know most of you (and me of course) have been dealing with a few days of complete lack of inspiration from time to time. I have found myself unable to pick up an outfit so many times in the past , I truly stopped counting. Over the last 3-4 years I found quite a few different ways to overcome this block and spend as little time as possible to pick my daily outfits. Especially if you are like me , the kind of person that changes outfits more than once troughout the day you will surely find the tips bellow extremely useful.

As for me this week has been quite hectic so far. We had to spend quite a few hours in office waiting rooms, signing papers etc. Adult life is surely a blast most of the times ahahha. Anyways, I have also been obsessed with blazers lately, always trying to find new ways to style my small collection of blazers. I am currently thinking of buying a new one ,with a bright , bold statement color this time. As you can probably see on my blog and instagram I am going through a face of constantly wearing sneakers , even with vinyl skirts! Despite the fact that I do have a back disformation which I only found out a year ago after three days of constant, umber able pain and the feeling of loosing the movement in my legs . Turns out after a few x-rays and doctors appointments that I have Spondylolisthesis type 1 since birth and even though this does not effect my everyday life what so ever there might be rare, brief periods of time that I will experience severe pain as I did last year. Enough of the medican stuff!

1. Take quick mirror selfies to save your favorite outfits

There are days I feel delighted to try out new outfit combinations. Taking advantage of these hours of endless inspiration try to style as many looks as you can , take a selfie of each one of them and save them on your phone. This way you won't feel pressured to try on so many different looks every day just to find the best one for the occasion. You will already have a few well thought ideas to save you lots of time daily.

2.Follow instagram hashtags like #ootd #outfitpost

Another great way to receive a tone of daily fashion inspiration is to follow popular fashion hashtags of instagram. This way you will not only have everything you need right in your hands but also, you might find some amazing accounts you have never checked before.

 4.Polyvore 's secret usage

I have been using polyvore for a few years now, mainly to organize my daily outfits and store my inspiration for the days I feel unmotivated. I personally use this site a little differently than most people. Instead of taking the role of a styling, I don't choose my favorite pieces and style them to create a beautiful layout. Instead I search for specific pieces that I already own (eg H&M vinyl skirt) and create multiply looks with other designs that are already in my closet. If I am unable to find some of the clothes I own , I place something really similar instead. When I a done, I screen shot the set and save it on my phone for future reference.

5. FB chat stylists m.me/epytom

This is a service I came across very recently. In a few quick words Epytome is an artificial intelligence stylist in Facebook Messenger. All you have to do is answer a few questions that evolve around your style choices, favorite pieces of clothing etc and you will be receiving outfit suggestions according to your needs. You can set the settings to daily, weekly, twice a week etc mode and this chat will do all the work for you during the days you feel uninspired.

Embrace your natural beauty
One of the biggest struggles a person can face while searching for their own, personal sense of style is to change themselves to fit with whatever is fashionable at the time. By doing so every bit of his/her individuality, inspiration and motivation will eventually cease to exist. Are the majority of us guilty of blindly following trends at some point in our lives? Of course. Your personal style should come from within. Rather than blindly copying and pasting trendy styles try to put your own touch on everything. Not every length, pattern, hight is for everyone. This applies to just about every aspect of your style; you should never let anyone dictate what it should and shouldn't be to you.

Be creative with your style

It's often much easier than you might think to get stuck in a rut when trying to find the best possible style for yourself. If you find yourself in this rabbit hole, the best thing that you can do is to get creative with it. Mix things up every so often, choose styles and colors that you'd normally ignore, just to see what happens.

Don't be afraid to experiment

The best thing you can do to really start being creative with your style is experimenting in different ways. Try new and different styles, even if you're not really sure if they're right for you. There will probably be a lot of occasions where you realize that something you experimented with just isn't what you're looking for, but you're never going to know that unless you actually put yourself out there and try new things. One of the very best things about experimenting with your style is that if you don't really like something, then it's often incredibly easy to take things back to the way that they were before.

Don't follow trends

It's often incredibly easy to get caught up in trends as they come along. After all, when the world around you is constantly telling you that you should look and dress and act a certain way, then it's often all too easy to get sucked in by it. However, trends are always temporary. They come, and they go in an instant, and most of them really don't stand up to the test of time. However, if you find a style that you like that has nothing to do with what everyone else is doing, then that's something that's going to last a whole lot longer.

Be confident

Style might often seem like something incredibly complicated, but the truth is that the real secret to style is one of the simplest things in the world: confidence. Now, a lot of people are going to be dealing with the fact that they really don't have that much confidence in the first place. Luckily there are a whole bunch of that you can do to bring your confidence levels up. For one thing, it's actually incredibly useful to fake it 'til you make it. By projecting a degree of confidence from within yourself, even if you're not convinced by it, the world is going to love it, and you may even reach the point where you get so used to pretending to be confident that it actually starts to make you feel that way for real.

The truth is that it may well take you a long time to find your own sense of style. Sure, it might happen right away, but it's a lot more likely that you'll end up in a position where you've had to try a few different things before you figure out it. There's nothing wrong with not really being sure what your own personal style is. Often the road to finding it can be incredibly complicated and winding, but that often just makes it more fun.

Drink More Water
For those of us who have real trouble
remembering to drink water daily

F or those of you who are consistent with the amount of water your body receives every day , great! You are definitely on the right track. But for all of us who tend to forget or neglect the importance of water in our lives I found a few easy tricks that helped me tremendously over the last year. Replace every drink you have with water (well, not coffee, at least for me). Personally I am not a big fun of drinks like Coca Cola, Pepsi etc. so the only drinks I really had to replace was iced-tea and boxed juices. As soon as you cut out all the unnecessary drinks, especially the ones that contain too much sugar.

Download an app that reminds you to drink water every few hours. Now that's something that really helped me the first few months. I simply cannot remember to stop what I am doing in order to have a glass of water (most often on the months of winter when I don't really feel any kind of thirst). I use the app Water "Drink Reminder" (for Android) but you can find some amazing ones for IOS as well like "Daily Water".

Add flavor to your water. This is something I mostly do in the morning. I add a few drops of lemon juice or a slice of lime to my fist bottle of water. Lemon helps with digestion and re hydration and lime is known to be rich in vitamin C.

Always order a glass of water with your meal, coffee, drinks etc. I found out that it really makes it easier for me if I constantly see a glass of water siting next to my drink or plate.

Battle acne naturally
Diet changes and tricks that helped me get a clearer skin

I started getting my fist breakouts about 3 years ago (possibly after taking the next day pill ) and even though at first I thought that these break outs will literally never stop the situation is way better this year. I have always been against taking acne pills (I know that they helped tremendously many people with severe problems but just couldn't bring myself to do it) and this was the main reason I slowly started cutting things out of my diet so I can see what ingredients and foods made my acne problem worst. I spotted a great difference after reducing dairy products (everything but Greece cheese). Something that immediately gave me results as well is adding a portion of lettuce to my every meal, which was really hard because I never really ate any kind of salad before ( don't judge!).

As I have never taken any kind of acne pills I had to find something else to help me with my breakouts. Surprisingly the second natural treatment I actually tasted worked miracles for me. The only products I use are rose water, tea tree oil and almond oil. If I hadn't met @alexandrapotora and her amazing instagram videos I would probably still face constant breakouts I used to. Teat tree oil (which is perfect to fight acne bacteria) to be exact managed to reduce my acne scars in just 2 weeks time. Here is a link to her video, If you have an acne problem try these few steps, you have literally nothing to lose .

Gym VS Outdoors
Truth is I hate going to the gym

After stating this unpopular opinion lets talk about some personal facts. I find the feeling of being in a room with 200 more people, especially when I am working out , pretty unpleasant. I am more concerned about improving my cardio, maintaining a healthy weight, managing my blood pressure and improving my balance rather than with having abs. That's the main reason I prefer walking and running on a daily bases. Find the type of exercise that works best for yourself and for your own needs without being taken away by the current trends.

fun autumn activities

Things and activities you should definitely try this season

Autumn flies by unexpectedly fast but there is still plenty of time to enjoy this season and all its perks. Personally, I am a big sucker for cuddling weather and a cup of hot cocoa with a fuzzy blanket wrapped around me, but sometimes taking things one step forward can really brighten up even the dullest day of the month.

I planned on writing this blog post 10 days ago but as you probably know if you follow me on Instagram (even though I shared nothing but one Instagram story about it) my boyfriend had a bicycle accident last Friday, thankfully everything went fine and got out of the hospital in just 3 days time but uncountably these have been some of the most stressful days of my life. Having a lot of time to think while waiting more than enough hours in hospital rooms I came up with a few fun, autumn activities for us to do to cheer ourselves up a bit.

On a lighter note, the weather seems to be in our favor this month, which allows us to have a tone of outdoor activities but for the time being, the "home sweet home" phrase really speaks volumes to me.

As simple as something like this might sound it is a great way to start your Autumn list of activities. Memories fade but photos live to tell the tale right? Have a cup of coffee in the nearest park that can be best described as "the epitome of autumn" and have fun with your friends while taking pictures of each other surrounded by fallen leaves and the sound of them crunching.

Gather the best of them all and create a mini album of this season, print a few copies of it, and gift them to your best friends. If you like this idea you can always pick photos from your favorite autumn activities and create a visual diary that can always be a reminder of all the great times you and your loved ones had together.

1.
Take a photo surrounded by fall leaves

  2.
Have a series marathon
Normally this would be "have a movie marathon" but tv-series are my weakest spot. There is nothing more beautiful than being wrapped in your favorite knitted blanket while enjoining as many episodes as you possibly can from your favorite show. This is not something I solely do in autumn but this season definitely has the mood for it.

Maybe this is the best time to finally start watching this new tv-series you have been thinking of lately. If you need a few suggestions, The 100, The Shannara Chronicles, Lucifer, Incorporated, and Mr.Robot are my top favorites. A series marathon is nothing without popcorn and a cup of pumpkin hot chocolate. Be prepared!

3.
Read more books
Now that evenings become more and more chilly by the day it is the perfect opportunity to stay a few nights in and enjoy the pages of many new books that you maybe didn't have the time to read previously. I make a promise to myself every season and I tend to keep it when it comes to reading. This time is all about the new illustrated editions of Harry Potter (you can find this set here) since I have been waiting for this collection for months and months now. I also love to watch a few great booktubers so I can stay up to date with the newest publications.

5.
Try a modern approach to the classic Thanksgiving recipe
As this season is more than perfect to experiment with a whole lot of new, exciting things maybe it is the right time to take it one step further and create something wonderful for the Thanksgiving table this time. There are so many recipes out there ready to be recreated with brand new, modern touch even in something as traditional as these holidays.

All you have to do is spend a little extra time browsing through Pinterest and you will surely be able to find the perfect recreation of the classic, recipe. I came across a board with tones of exciting recipes with an Asian flavor earlier today (visit the link here) and I am completely hooked! Have you ever heard of Turkey Spring rolls? Cause I would really love to have one in front of me right now.

Another great source if you are looking for easy, innovative recipes all year long is SeriousSeats.com. I recreated a few of their Christmas cookies suggestions last year and it totally worth it.!

6.
Find yourself the coziest knitted blanket
Knitted blankets are the trendiest room decor pieces for this season but this is not the only reason you need to have one. Except for the fact that they are super warm and cozy (perfect to accompany you while reading your favorite book or having the series marathon we talked about earlier), they are also the perfect accessory for every bedroom. These blankets can be found in big retails but I personally prefer to support small artists like Etsy sellers. Take a look at PinkUnicornStudio handmade blankets in every color or download a pattern and start knitting this beauty yourself.
american eagle outfiters influencer campaign
Over the last few years more and more brands dedicate their time to not only make people look beautiful but also feel the same way in the inside. Terms like "body positivity" and "diversity" slowly but staidly take their rightful place in the fashion industry. Brands and designers launch more and more collections to cover the needs of every person's body type and skin tone equally.

Women and men are encouraged everyday to show off their true selfs ,flaws and all included. The real version of you should not be hidden but embraced and we all have the power to make it happen. Big celebrities and social media starts have already showed of the real, un-photoshoped body and face in an effort make a statement against the discrimination in the fashion industry.Already we can see a significant change in shapes and sizes but there is still a long way to go.

The #ICAN campaign ,started in 2017, encourages people to show what their are capable of doing, feel confident and bring their beautiful self forward.

Jut by having a quick glimpse at AEO's newest campaign video on youtube you can clearly see that the fashion industry stereotypes are getting crushed day by day and this could not make us any happier .More realistic portrayals of beauty is something we all crave for. Shop AEO denim collection

Since I was a teen I was always obsessed with hosting girls- night- only gatherings and even though the things we could do during those years were pretty limited we always managed to have a great evening and tones of fun. Now that years went by our ' girls nights' are significant fewer but  still as exciting as before. Truthfully hosting any kind of party of gathering have always been a great pleasure of mine and what's a better season to host the perfect only girls party that the Holiday season?

Girl's night in decor ideas:

Find a theme: Half of the excitement comes from the preparation and what's better than a themed gathering? Since it is the holidays you don't have to work very hard on the decoration part, most of you are probably already put on your Christmas decorations a while back. Now that the theme is already known it is time for a few edits.

As cozy as it gets: You can't host a holiday girl's night in without adding the words warm and cozy in it. The best way to do that is by giving a warm, soft blanket ( like this solid velvet style ) to each one of your best friends (and yourself) in order to cuddle up it while watching your favorite movie or as you enjoy a delicious ,holiday drink (see bellow). Another great idea that will definitely add a cozy touch to your evening is giving your friends something completely personalized for them to keep even after the gathering. I found this monogram white-gold mug ($7) and this very similar cup on sale (just for $2.98) but if you are in a strict budget you can always DIY the mugs yourself (see the easiest tutorial here )

Girl's night in food and drinks:

Holiday Drinks: Moving on to the most exciting part of the preparation, the ultimate treats and drinks. Judging from my experience usually you would love something to boost your energy and that something is most of the times alcohol. Serving a plain glass of wine is great but since this is a holiday nights in gathering why don't you put a little effort into making something delicious and Christmassy in just a few minutes? This White Christmas Margarita punch recipe  looks absolutely yummy ,or how about a 2 mins Campfire Cocktail  with chocolate syrup and let's not forget the Jingle Juice Holiday Punch that's just perfect for every holiday party.

Finger food: Next up is the treats. You may want to keep the recipes affordable just because you might need a lot of them during the night. This Oreo cookies bases recipe is everything a chocoholic needs during every day of the week.but just in case you prefer your treats to be salty Homemade Mac and Cheese bites  and ....  are both extremely easy and super tasty for you and your friends.

*You can always add another personalized touch here by preparing a few cute handwritten, name tags clipped on each one of your friend's plates.

Things to do during your holiday girls night in gathering

Secret Santa gift exchange : Probably the greatest way to start off an exciting gathering is by exchanging little gifts. Call each one of your friends a week prior , set a budget that everyone will feel comfortable with ( something small and personalized always has the greatest value) and wait for the big moment.

Gift wrapping: One of our favorite things we always use to do in the a holiday girl's night in is gift wrapping. Each of you can bring the presents you already bought for your family and loved ones in order to wrap them together. This is so exciting especially since everyone has a different idea to put in the table. You can always go out a few days before and purchase all the supplies like wrapping paper, gift decorations, many types of ribbons and of course, my ultimate favorite , gift tags. I always print my favorite gift tags ( straight from pinterest as usual). This year I found the cutest "Santa special delivery " tags  which you can download for free and of course I saved all my favorite gift wrapping techniques , styles and tags on my 'Christmas Sparkle' board .

Movies or Series :  The most common yet very fun part of the night. Watching a movie (or a few episodes) with your friends give a whole new meaning to it. All you need is a good movie ( preferable something for the Holidays, cause common on! It's a holiday girls night in ) that everyone will want to watch or maybe a few episodes of a series that noone watched before. A few suggestions based on my all time favorite movies would be Love actually, The Santa Clause, The Holiday, The family man . As for the tv-series I am currently obsessed , The  stitchers, Lucifer , the 100 and Limitless .

 Eating more caring less.

The whole world is so focused on the body image , manipulating you in every possible way and eventually you get caught in this everlasting madness of constant waist and hips measurements. Well, life is too short to prevent yourself from enjoying the simplest things as an extra slice of pizza, another glass of wine or ordering a donnut with your morning coffee. I do remember myself being conscious of every single bite I was having, being secretly afraid every time I needed to measure myself once again in order to order something online ,looking for every possible flaw in a photo rather than focusing on the beautiful results. The day I  said f* that was probably the day I felt the biggest relief in 2016. I started enjoying life even more than I did before mostly because the  biggest sources of my anxiety was in fact my constant need to always look perfect. I am grateful that I finally realized I love food more than everyone's opinions.

Spending time with friends is the best therapy

Another thing I was having such a hard time dealing with was finding a balance between work, relationships and friends. The times I caught myself being too busy working to return a text, a phone call was more than enough and by the time I got off the computer the only time I got left was 2-3 hours that needed to be my relaxation time. There have been days I felt so overwhelmed by everything that I simply wanted to put on whatever I could find in front of me , go meet my friend and tell her all about it. I promised to never skip an invitation for a coffee again and always find the time to meet my friends during the week cause the inspiration, motivation and relief I feel every time I return home from our meetings is beyond compare. I am grateful for having friends that can support me no matter what.

Fighting for what you want gives your life a new meaning

I am the first one to agree that accomplishments take time, effort and most importantly lots of anger , anxiety and failures. I keep reminding myself how unimportant things would be if they were given to us so easily, after all If you really gave 100% of your self chasing what you want and failed, you will be at least sure that you tried your best. I am a dream chaser ,having a life goal gives my whole life a motivation to keep doing my best until I reach it, and when I do , I will not stop until I reach the next one. I am grateful for all the things I achieved in 2016 through hard work and determination.

Travel more, worry later.

Traveling has always extremely therapeutic for me, not solely because of all the new places I get to see each time, but for the excitement of the adventure. The moment I step in the car, airplane, train etc I feel like I can leave all my daily struggles , anxiety and routine behind and focus on the trip and destination instead. I can't help but imagine how my life would be if I was born in every single place I visited, how different would I be? Would I still love the same things as I do now?. All these little mind games along with the new, exciting places I am blessed enough to see are the reason I never miss a chase to travel even for a 100 miles to the closest city. I am grateful for all the travels I was able to plan in 2016, of all the days I spend next to the sea with my hair wet , of all the great memories I have from the snow covered mountains and cozy, wooden houses.

Give and receive love every single day

Most importantly I am felling blessed for being able to give and receive as much love as I could over the last three years. Finding the one person that can love you exactly for who you are without all the makeup and well thought outfits it something I can never have enough of. Even though every single person has its insecurities, good and bad moments, anger issues etc I still can't believe that there is someone than can look pass all these and still love you for who you are , flaws and everything. I am grateful for knowing that what ever happens I will never be along again and I will always have someone to help me get back on my feet. I am grateful for finding someone that loves me unconditionally.

Letting myself free

We are spending the majority of our lives pretending to be someone we are not. Constantly filtering ourself in order to seem correct to everyone outside our closest circle of friends. Hiding our opinions with the fear that might hurt someone or might sound wrong till the moment we realize that we are the ones that constantly get hurt from all these filters. Except from a few occasions I kept myself as real as I could this year. Sharing your opinion, give and receive advise is the only way you can be a better person . The truth is not always pleasant and should not only be stated politely. I am grateful for finally being able to speak up my mind and show my real self to everyone.

Stop worrying about every little imperfection on my skin

Last February my face started braking out , till that day I had never seen any imperfections on my face (not ever the usual redness) and that took a big hit at my self esteem. Even though the problem was and it is not as extended as many other peoples skin problems I was still feeling defeated by it. Personally I always wear makeup , expect from summer and I was really scared of facing this summer bare skin. And let me tell you , I didn't started small ahhaah. I spend my first summer days with no makeup in the University's camping. I soon realized than now one was actually looking at my skin imperfections . A few friends one day walked up to me and said "I can't understand what changed to your face " and that's when I really understood that we are the only ones that see our imperfections, other people don't pay attention to a few acne scars , they see your whole image and since this is a problem that too many people face, seriously nobody even cares. I am grateful for finally being able to understand that a few flaws on my face are not making any difference.

Stress has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I really can't calculate how many times stress and social anxiety prevented me from accomplishing even the most plain, daily tasks (let's now talk about all the sleepless nights before a deadline, important project, or even an uncomfortable situation I  had to face the next day). It took me more than enough years to understand the problem yet along facing it but no matter how scary things look there is always a way to cope with every situation without letting stress get in the way of your daily activities. Even though there is no magic solution since stress is triggered by tones of different reasons there are a few simple steps I take during the day that definitely helps me calm my mind (and body).

Take your time in the morning. The majority of my school years and my first year in college I was setting my alarm clock way to late forcing myself to get up, get ready, grab my coat and run out of my house just in time to catch the bus. This unnecessary morning stress was ruining my mood and half of my day, especially by having the constant fear of always being late. Three years I added one extra hour to my morning routine, the difference was more than surprising. I not only take my time to enjoy a cup of coffee, read a few pages of my favorite book, and have breakfast with my boyfriend but also have an additional half-hour to get to my destination without having to worry about running up late.

Get read of all the "toxic" people around you
Another great relief was the moment I broke every bond with all the people that were causing me stress and anxiety just by being around me. Think of all the people close to you that affect you with their negativity, all those who instead of supporting you they always seem to find every little flaw in your plans (yes, we all had them) and stop engaging with them. Even the ones that just bring you unfortunates for no particular reason. Positive vibes only!

Steal an hour within or after work to sit outdoors
My Instagram feed is field with outdoor pictures (mainly with a cup of coffee in my hand) and there is a good reason behind them. I never miss a good opportunity to grab a coffee or lunch and simply sit outside to enjoy it. If the weather does not allow me to do so I usually sit at my favorite coffee place (in a quiet, cozy corner) with my book,  laptop, or latest project to work on ). Stealing a few moments of your day to clear your mind is truly essential in order to keep being motivated throughout the day.

Close your phone and take two hours every evening to watch a movie
You will be surprised at how little things like these can actually help your daily stress. Every night for the last five years I wrap myself with my favorite blanket and catch up with all my favorite series and new movies. Your mind will be occupied with something new and exciting every single night letting no room for stress to crawl back in you before you go to sleep. Current favorite series: The 100, Limitless, Stranger Things, American Horror Story, Blindspot, Mr. Robot, Lucifer. Current favorite movies: Letters to Juliet, The Devil wears Prada, The desert flower, Chocolat, Now you see me, The inner life of Martin Frost.

I spend almost 2 hours going through hundreds of photos last night, mainly from 6-7 years ago. I was lost in my school memories, teenage boyfriends , blurry
selfies and outrageous clothing choices for quite some time. I have heard so many times over and over again that  many people would like nothing more
than to erase a few high-school years and their memories of certain behaviors, incidents and so on but for me this was probably the most careless and exciting
period of my life (so far).  If I had the chance to go back in time and change something it would probably be a few very intense ( but totally teenage related )
drama with my parents, just around the time that most of us thought that the whole world was up to get us but rather that these everything would definitely
stay exactly the way it was.

Back then I never thought that I would change as much as I did. The thought of finding the love of my life, putting away my outrageously strange clothes and
finally being able to afford my own place while doing a job I really love was more than insane for my 16 year old self. But here I am , wearing long plaid skirts
rather than leather, ripped off leggings sharing the job that I love with the love of my life.

To prevent any kind of drama no, my life isn't perfect. There are dozens of times that stress really overcomes me, lots of days I feel I can't keep up with with
life and most importantly moments I am feeling like giving up is the only choice. There main think that keeps me going is not thinking about the things I could
have but think off all the things I have accomplished so far. There will always be someone more clever than you, more successful more beautiful but If you truly
know who you are these things will only be your motivation , not your constant fears.

xoxo.
