We Are Streaming The Art Film: “TRANSMISSION” And So Should You

You’ve exhausted every recommendation of the best art films to watch while you're at home, but we can guarantee that this one will catch you by surprise. You know exactly what I am talking about. The hidden gems that usually come from independent directors who somehow manage to depict life's most important issues in a uniquely creative way.

You see, before the events of 2020 I used to frequent all art film festivals in my area, so excuse me for being a bit too excited about the digital screening of the Art Film: “TRANSMISSION”.

What is “TRANSMISSION” and why you should mark the 17th of April?

The pandemic has forced many of us to change our everyday lives completely, but due to the collective efforts of a number of creatives, we now have the chance to see many talented people performing live from the comfort of our own homes.

“TRANSMISSION” is Badara Ndiaye's passion project. The film aims to show how society, culture, religion, family, friends, institutions, and other social aspects contribute to our formatting and shaping evolution as human beings, from birth until the end of our days. In this project, our lives that wait to happen are portrait as a blank canvas, accompanied by the use of watercolors to represent our experiences and knowledge. A perfect representation of how we, humans, are really a product of our environment and experiences.

It's safe to say that “TRANSMISSION” has to offer a unique, artistic, and reflective approach to the evolution of the human being in society- an approach we can't wait to see for ourselves. In case you need yet another excuse, all artists will be dressed by designers from all over the world.

What more can you expect from this stream?

The Art film screening will be followed by many exciting live performances that you surely wouldn't want to miss.

Whether you’re into forbidden love, guilt-ridden characters that put up a continuous fight with their demons, or a good meet-cute moment, there’s an incredibly enticing novel waiting for you around the corner. Just don't blame me if you end up ordering more than one, because you might finish the first one ridiculously fast—yes, they are that good.

Romantic Residency by Amanda Lista

This doctor romance novel follows the lives of two medical students at UCSF Medical Center, with a ton of responsibilities and a huge need to distress and have fun at the end of their long days. Bryce and Iris are both up-and-coming doctors in their final year. Charming, brilliant but easily distracted when it comes to women, Bryce quickly became Iris's biggest rival. She, on the other hand, is whip-smart and completely dedicated to her studies.

Things take an unexpected turn when Bryce gets seduced by a fellow student, resulting in him losing interest in his studies. Even though Iris finds herself missing his flirtatious personality, she soon becomes attracted to her professor, Doctor Atticus.

Aspiring Intentions by Amanda Lista

This up-and-coming author surely knows how to get us hooked, here is your proof. The plot follows doctor Maxwell Scott, St. Vincent’s top heart surgeon, and his on-going guilt trip. You see after he botched a surgery last here, he not only has to face his family's disappointment, but also his own demons. Unsure of whether or not he will still be able to cut it in the medical field, he found himself on the verge of hitting rock bottom. Until a new nurse comes up.

Lola Lozano is a small-town girl from upstate New York with a big dream. She was always eager to start her nursing career at Big Apple. After her much-anticipated move to the big city, she is forced to face the hard reality. New York City is nothing like the movies, and life isn’t all that glamorous, nor is the hospital as down to earth as she had imagined.

Their attraction is undeniable, and soon start fighting the urge to be together. Will Lola finally get over her shyness? Dr. Scott seems overworked and unwilling to make the first move. Jessi Who? Will Be Your New Favorite Comedy Series On Youtube

There is certainly no lack of male comedians in the world but, as soon as women take over the mic, we cannot help but cheer! I am sure most of you know exactly what I'm talking about. I am referring to the super creative and utterly hilarious women who manage to steal your attention every time they take the stage. Let's be honest, we all need a good laugh.

"The Humor Gap"

If you are an avid 00's film watcher, then you probably remember the phrase that unconsciously stacked in the brains of thousands of teen girls who adored the Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging. During one of the earliest scenes in the movie, Jas mentioned that "Boys don’t like girls for funniness". You see, Georgia showed up at the costume party dressed as a stuffed olive, only to discover that all her friends had picked less funny and way more conventionally attractive costumes.

Even it was considered as a quick throwaway line, it showed a popular cultural trend of portraying men as funnier than women in comedy. However, if you think that this idea was only present in teenage movies, you will be surprised to read Vanity Fair's article "Why Women Aren't Funny", which suggests that women "already appeal to men if you catch my drift". Thankfully the author, took some time to "investigate the reasons for the humor gap"- after all, why do we need humor when your vagina is more than enough to capture the attention of all men, am I right?

Female Comedians On The Rise Who Will Leave You In Tears

The idea that women are less skilled in comedy than men is obviously biased and inaccurate. However, it doesn't take long to realize that the comedy industry is a boy's club at the top (and bottom). Don't fret, because today we will focus on the female comedians that are absolutely crushing the game—and I am crushing on them. Many comedy die-hard fans might already know my new favorite female comedian, but I need all of Kdaily readers to be able to say with pride that they knew about her before she became a top name.

The Los Angeles based first-time Director, Meredith G. Guerra, brings us a show that will surely help us escape the heaviness of the world today. Let me introduce you to your next favorite Youtube series, "Jessi Who?", a new web series hitting youtube this year. Let's face it, knowing how to pose for photos—especially if you aren’t a signed model with 10 years of experience under your belt —can be extremely more difficult than you ever expect it to be. Yes, pretty much none of us can afford a skilled, on-demand photographer who can guide us through every step. But If you’re anything like me, you’ve likely experienced quite a few eye rolls the moment you asked someone to take a few photos of your new, killer outfit for the gram, only to hate every single shot they took no matter the effort. And while sometimes the outside elements are unavoidable or simply cannot be controlled according to your daily demands— I am looking at you, best friend who barely knows how to push the camera button —others can be easily avoided with some much-needed simple posing tips from a pro photographer.

"But, we have already established that I don't have a pro photographer on-demand" I hear you say. Well, luckily you don't have to visit an actual photography studio to receive all the helpful tips you need to turn your semi-presentable photos into insta-worthy shots.
