Now that Christmas days are long gone I found myself once again hiding my extra moody morning behind a total black (but extra cozy)
look. I became totally obsessed with this leather skirt the moment I saw that beauty hanged in Rag & Bone 's online store. I am totally
guilty of loving this "leather on leather" trend that has been going on over the past year but choosing the right leather skirt can be quite a
tricky process since there are many different things to take into consideration before placing your order.
1.At this point we have to point out the obvious. Not everyone has the same body type and that's exactly why choosing the right length
(and pattern) is a crucial matter, especially in such fabrics(Take a look at my latest article on Makeoverly so you can find out
everything you need to know about what to wear and what to avoid according to your body type). For my (hourglass) body
type a high waisted , a line skirt is all I ever needed.
2. Consider your pre-existing clothes! There are certain types of leather skirts ( like this one and this one) that are pretty difficult
to be combined with casual pieces. If you are sure that you can actually pull off an "edgy" outfit properly then, go ahead!
Rock it! But if your closet is mainly consisted of everyday, basic key pieces then you should probably stick to the most
simple (yet stylish) designs like a button up ,a line skirt. (see here)
Last but not least. I totally understand the need to buy a quality, timeless piece that will surely last for many seasons but always have
to take a deep breath and think carefully about it. Maybe leather skirts are not your favorite piece on earth after all, in that case you
have just lost about 400$. Consider trying an affordable , faux leather skirt first and make the big "investment" as soon as you are
sure that this piece will definitely not go to waste.
