Things and activities you should definitely try this season

Autumn flies by unexpectedly fast but there is still plenty of time to enjoy this season and all its perks. Personally I am a big sucker for cuddling weather and a cup of hot cocoa with a fuzzy blanket wrapped around me, but sometimes taking things one step forward can really brighten up even the most dull day of the month.

I planed on writing this blog post 10 days ago but as you probably know if you follow me on instagram (even though I shared nothing but one instagram story about it) my boyfriend had a bicycle accident a last Friday, thankfully everything went fine and got out of the hospital in just 3 days time but undoughtably these have been some of the most stressful days of my life. Having a lot time to think while waiting more than enough hours in hospital rooms I came up with more than enough fun , autumn activities for us to do to cheer ourselfs up a bit.

On a lighter note the weather seems to be in our favor this month, which allows us to have a tone of outdoor activities but for the time being, the "home sweet home" phrase really speaks volumes to me.

As simple as something like this might sound it is a great way to start your Autumn list of activities. Memories fade but photos live to tell the tale right? Have a cup of coffee in the nearest park that can be best described as "the epitome of autumn" and have fun with your friends while taking pictures of each other surrounded by fallen leaves and sound of them crunching.

Gather the best of them all and create a mini album of this season, print a few copies of it and gift them to your best friends . If you like this idea you can always pick photos from your favorite autumn activities and create a visual diary that can always be a reminder of all the great times you and your loved ones had together.

Take a photo surrounded by fall leaves

Have a series marathon
Normally this would be "have a movie marathon" but tv-series are my weakest spot. There is nothing more beautiful than being wrapped in your favorite knitted blanket while enjoining as many episodes as you possibly can from your favorite show. This is not something I solely do in autumn but this season definitely has the mood for it.

Maybe this is the best time to finally start watching this new tv-series you have being thinking of lately. If you need a few suggestions, The 100, The Shannara chronicles, Lucifer, Incorporated and Mr.Robot are my top favorites. A series marathon is nothing without popcorn and a cup of pumpkin hot chocolate. Be prepared!

3.
Read more books
Now that evenings become more and more chilly by the day it is the perfect opportunity to stay a few nights in and enjoy the pages of many new books that you maybe didn't had the time to read previously. I make a promise to myself every season and I tend to keep it when it comes to reading. This time is all about the new illustrated editions of Harry Potter (you can find this set here) since I have been waiting for this collection for months and months now. I also love to watch a few great booktubers so I can stay up to date with the newest publications.

Try a modern approach to the classic Thanksgiving recipe
As this season is more than perfect to experiment with a whole lot of new, exciting things maybe it is the right time to take it one step further and create something wonderful for the Thanksgiving table this time. There are so many recipes out there ready to be recreated with brand new, modern touch even in something as traditional as these holidays.

All you have to do is spend a little extra time browsing though pinterest and you will surely be able to find the perfect recreation of the classic , recipe. I came across a board with tones of exciting recipes with an Asian flavor earlier today (visit the link here) and I am completely hooked! Have you ever heard of Turkey Spring rolls? Cause I would really love to have one in front of me right now.

Another great source if you are looking for easy, innovative recipes all year long is SeriousSeats.com . I recreated a few of their Christmas cookies suggestions last year and it totally worth it.!

Find yourself the coziest knitted blanket
Knitted blankets are the trendiest room decor pieces for this season but this is not the only reason you need to have one. Except from the fact that they are super warm and cozy (perfect to accompany you while reading your favorite book or having the series marathon we talked about earlier) they are also the perfect accessory for every bedroom. These blankets can be found in big retails but I personally prefer to support small artists like Etsy sellers. Take a look at PinkUnicornStudio handmade blankets in every color or download a pattern and start knitting this beauty yourself.
